YOUTH RED CROSS SOCIETY- YRC

YOUTH RED CROSS SOCIETY- YRC

The Indian Red Cross Society is a voluntary humanitarian organization, established by an act of the Indian Legislature in 1920, having on its rolls the states, the union territories, the districts and the sub-district branches. Its activities are being directed forward to the “Prevention of Diseases, Improvement of Health and Mitigation of Suffering”. The Indian Red Cross Society realized the importance of the youth way back in 1925 and established Junior Red Cross (JRC) in schools and Youth Red Cross (YRC) in colleges.

Objectives
  • Selfless services to the sick and suffering.
  • Promotion of national and international friendship.
  • Disaster relief to the victims.

YRC trains to render selfless service to their society. In a bit to prepare communities for emergencies and to nurture humanitarianism in the youth, the Youth Red Cross unit of RVS college of nursing undertakes umpteen tasks.

The youth Red Cross unit of our college imbibes service mindedness among students and trains them to disseminate and practice the seven fundamental principles of Red Cross Society. HUMANITY, IMPARTIALITY, NEUTRALITY, INDEPENDENCE, VOLUANTARY SERVICE, UNITY AND UNIVERSALITY

Youth represent a substantial part of the membership of Red Cross for its humanitarian commitment. Young volunteers can make a significant contribution to meet the needs of the most vulnerable people within their local communities through Red Cross youth programme. This has been designed to involve young people as much as possible in the movement and its activities not only as workers and also as beneficiaries, but as partners in management
